Halftone dots scanned from old books were enlarged and used as material for the work. Halftone dots are sets of small dots used to reproduce plates or illustrations, and are a modeling element specific to printing. When halftone dots are enlarged, the noise generated in the printing process mixes within a mechanical uniformity to display a fascinating expression. I overlaid these halftone dots to create various patterns and gradations. In Kepler 452B, which was exhibited last year, the images were composed of halftone dots, but this time, instead of being the means to reproduce iconography, the dots themselves were configured to stand out.
